About Maskly

Four digits are enough.
Twelve are a risk.

Most of the time, nobody needs the full Aadhaar number on a copy of the card. Maskly exists to make the safer copy the easy one.

Why we built it

Copies
multiply.

An Aadhaar card is photocopied, photographed, scanned, emailed and filed, again and again: for a bank account, a SIM card, a job, a lease, a hospital visit.

Each copy carries the full number and a QR code full of personal details, and most of the people holding those copies never needed either. Masking by hand is slow and easy to get wrong.

Maskly does it in seconds. It finds the card, hides the first eight digits and the QR code, and gives back a copy that's still useful but no longer dangerous. It keeps nothing for itself.

What we believe

Four principles.

Keep nothing

A privacy tool that stores your documents is a new risk, not a fix. Images live in memory and are deleted after one download.

Change only what must change

The first eight digits and the QR code are covered; everything else in the image is left exactly as it was.

Say what's real

Every feature is labelled as available, on request or planned. Automated masking isn't perfect, and we say so.

Run where you need it

Online for a quick copy, inside your own network for sensitive volumes, or built into the document system you already use.

Part of a family

Also inside DocVault.

The same masking engine is built into DocVault document management, where it can mask whole folders automatically. Maskly brings it to everyone else, as a standalone tool.
